Reservoir Studies

The Caythorpe gas field has been producing since 1992, initially exporting gas, after modest processing, into the Transco system.

Since 1997 it has been exporting power, following the installation of a small power station on the site.

Warwick Energy acquired the field in 2001 and commenced producing from an additional gas bearing horizon in 2002.

Over 7.5 Bscf of gas have now been produced from the field from the two horizons. Studies carried out by independent consultants indicate that the gas initially in place in the reservoir amounted to some 10 Bscf.

The studies further demonstrate that, after re-pressuring to the levels that existed prior to the start of operations, the field would be capable of producing an average 167 MMscf/d over a 45 day period. A total of up to six additional wells may be required.
