The Government’s energy strategy includes a target to generate 20% of the UK’s electricity needs from renewable sources by 2020. Currently, the UK generates around 10% of its electricity from renewable sources. The development of offshore wind farms is key to the Government’s renewable energy targets and will contribute to the nation’s electricity supply security. |
