A planning application from Warwick Energy Limited is currently being considered by Derbyshire County Council for a waste to energy gasification plant at Pye Bridge, Derbyshire. With a successful track record in renewable energy generation projects, Warwick Energy is proposing a change in fuel use at an established electricity generation station at Pye Bridge, now that natural gas which previously provided fuel for the operations at the site has been exhausted. The proposal at Pye Bridge contributes to the three national drives to increase the amount of energy generation from renewable sources, to decrease the amount of waste sent to landfill and to improve energy supply from domestic sources. Gasification is a clean process, regulated and monitored by the Environment Agency, whereby the cleaned produced gas is used to generate electricity.   Energy Generation and Benefits of Gasification Back to Generation Sites
