Pye Bridge

The Pye Bridge site, located near Alfreton in Derbyshire commenced operation in June 1999.

It initially utilised natural gas produced through an underground pipeline from Warwick Energy’s nearby Ironville gas field to generate 9 MW of electricity from three Wartsila reciprocating gas engines for supply to the local network.
As the Ironville gas field is now depleted, the company is currently considering the options for re-using the Pye Bridge site, which it owns freehold, and which retains all the necessary power generation infra-structure.
