Caythorpe

The Caythorpe power station commenced operation in December 1997 and is located near the seaside resort of Bridlington in Yorkshire.

The gas field has been in operation since 1992, initially producing gas for the grid.

The site extracts gas from company owned on-shore gas reserves which provides the fuel source for the three Wartsila reciprocating gas engines. The site produces 9MW's of power to the local network.

Gas has been produced from two distinct geological horizons, one or both of which may be subsequently developed as a gas storage facility.

Warwick Energy owns and operates a number of other generation sites throughout the UK.
