PRESS RELEASE, January 29th 2009 |
DUDGEON OFFSHORE WIND PROJECT
PUBLIC CONSULTATIONS
Dudgeon Offshore Wind Limited, a subsidiary of Warwick Energy Limited, is pleased to announce the dates and locations for Public Consultation meetings to take place in the middle of February 2009.
These meetings are intended to inform members of the public about a proposed windfarm project 32km off the north Norfolk coast and to seek feedback on the scheme.
Warwick Energy has conducted detailed studies and surveys on the site to confirm that the scheme is technically viable and environmental acceptable and is now in a position to conduct full external consultation on the project. The studies were designed using feedback from both local and national agencies, following the December 2007 scoping report on the project, and are intended to form the basis of an application for consent later this year.
Subject to consent being granted, development of the scheme may deliver up to 560 MW of renewable energy and may be completed by 2013. Depending on the type of turbine selected for the project, up to 168 turbines may be installed in an area covering 35 square kilometres.
The following public exhibitions are being held;
February 15th Hotel de Paris, Cromer 1pm – 8pm
February 16th The Little Theatre, Sheringham 11am – 8pm
The displays will include details of the proposed project and photomontages. Senior company officials will be available to answer questions.
